In this project, students will create Pop art-inspired portraits using Photoshop, drawing on the iconic style of Andy Warhol while exploring themes from Nick Bilton’s documentary Fake Famous. Warhol’s bold, repetitive, and brightly coloured portraits serve as the visual foundation. At the same time, the documentary’s exploration of fame, social media, and the construction of online personas encourages students to consider the impact of digital culture on identity. This project will challenge students to manipulate their images in a way that critiques and reimagines the concept of “fame” in the digital age, blending Warhol’s aesthetic with contemporary commentary on social influence and perception.
